Start with a Telephone Consultation

If you are curious to find out if therapy with me is a good choice for you, you are welcome to call me. A consultation is simply a brief conversation to tell me about yourself, ask questions and talk about how therapy can be beneficial to you.  There is no charge for a 15 minute  initial telephone consultation.  



Fees and Copayments

My rate is $130 for a 50-55 minute session.  Fees or co-payments are expected at the time of each visit. If you would like to use health insurance, I will bill your insurance for you (if in-network) and if you are out-of-network I will provide you with an invoice and give you instructions on how to file your claim for reimbursement. Read below for more information.



Using your Insurance

If you start therapy with me, I will directly bill your insurance company or instruct you on how to submit claims if I am out of network with your provider. I am in network with the following managed care plans:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO

  • Blue Cross Blue Choice and Blue Options  (NOTE: I am not in network with Blue Cross HMO plans)

  • Medicare

  • Cigna

  • If I am not a member of your insurance panel, you can use out-of-network benefits. I would encourage you to call your insurance company to find out what your mental health benefits are prior to your first session. Read on if you have questions about what you should ask... 



Questions to ask your Insurance Company if using insurance:
  • First tell them you are calling for you behavioral health benefits. 

  • Can you give me a quote for my outpatient mental health benefits?

  • Do I have a deductible to meet before my benefits start?

  • What is my copayment or co-insurance per session?

  • Is preauthorization required?

  • Are there any coverage limitations?

If Out-of-Network with the above plans: 
  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health appointments?

  • How much does my plan cover for an outpatient mental health provider who is out-of-network with my plan?

  • Do I have a deductible to meet before my benefits start?

  • Is preauthorization required?

  • Are there any coverage limitations?

  • How do I obtain reimbursement for therapy with an out-of-network provider?


Appointment Cancellation Policy

A 24-hour advance notice of appointment cancellation is required, as insurance companies do not reimburse for missed or cancelled appointments. It is the client's responsibility to cancel in advance, or to pay a cancellation fee of $60    (unless the reason for cancellation is a documented emergency).
